Fun at the National Gallery of Art

Back on another of my favorite topics, our fabulous National Gallery of Art.
I love just to go to the website and browse the collection, check out the podcasts etc. Tonight, however, the kids and I had a lot of fun playing games on the National Gallery of Art Kids Art Zone. Be warned. You will have to fight your kids off the computer so you can play too. Here's a collage we made together that I call "Our Montreal."

Here's WoolfootKid 1's pastiche of Henri Rousseau.

Oh, let's see, here is the six degrees of kevin bacon: I often visit 60 going on 16, and I saw her list of 'sweet home blogger awards' which her dog chose by stepping on blog names which she had cut out and put on the floor. Luckily for me, I am beloved by dogs, and so was 'chosen.' So then I went to visit Musings from a Muddy Island which she, not the dog, chose. As I was reading it, I looked on the sidebar, and saw the title of your blog, and thought what a great name, so I came by and am enjoying all your entries. But the reason I decided to post on this entry is because I saw under your 'some favorites from the National Gallery' a picture by an artist I have just begun to love, Edmund Tarbell. It is the 5th one down, Mother and Mary. I was just so surprised to see it. Right now I'm reading a book about him and his art. I love his family pictures, and his use of light. Anyhow, there is the long story I didn't make short. I'll be back to visit. I'm sorry about what you are going through with your mom, and hope she will be alright.

What a great comment. I just woke up from a 2 hour nap (Mom's birthday today and we went out in this HEAT). She may have handicapped parking sticker - that is a blessing let me tell you - but I am the one who needed recovery today. Thanks for your comment and I hope you tried out the collage and still life creation games at the NGA.

I haven't but I will. So, your mom is a Cancer sun, as is my daughter.
