Eject! Eject!
Pimlico Cross Country Trail
Has the snow in England melted yet? I heard an amusing (and sort of amazing) radio report on Thursday morning about how the country had been paralyzed by six inches of snow. Boris Johnson, the mayor of London, was interviewed and was nearly breathless about how "extraordinary" it was. The report made it sound as if a moon-sized meteorite rather than a few inches of snow that had hit London.
You know I love you, all you lovely British people, but this will not do. What happened to "keep calm and carry on"?
Just now, hopping around my favorite blogs, I found this over at Unmitigated England (see the sidebar). If you've been looking for a great blog to read, with pictures just as good, do yourself a favor and click through.

We did carry on, but more in the spirit of the Carry On films than in the exercise of stiff upperlipness. Which should be easy to do when its frozen.
Bienvenue Mme Defarge! How is it, with all that knitting, you neglected to make a nice, big scarf for yourself? I am off to visit your blog.
You've got to remember that the UK has not seen snow for years, everyone had put their snow shoes in the loft and forgotten how to skate
most of my friends and family members just enjoyed the unexpected winter bonus....ignore the shrill media.
I know. I know. You all didn't get this far because you were made of sugar candy. This is just me enjoying the cheap sense of superiority I get by looking down my nose at those who are undone by a little snow (mostly this is directed at my fellow Americans). My bad.

The media have worked so hard at making a drama out of an inconvenience. They must be exhausted by now.

should i tell you we have had temps in the 60's, the green of the un-dug garlic is showing, it is seriously time for me to order seeds in time for sowing radishes next month?
